Consultant Services

I am now offering consultation to parents to determine how to best meet your child's needs so that the family may thrive. My unique ability to perceive the essence of the child allows me to provide an intuitive perspective which will benefit the whole family. I would love to bring my teaching and parenting skills to your family.
I, Vicki Kirsch, am a parent of four children and grandparent of four. In 1977 while researching education for the benefit of my daughter, Lauri, I discovered Rudolf Steiner and Waldorf Education. I felt an immediate connection to the spiritual teachings as it supported my beliefs and interests in child development, gardening, nutrition, health, philosophy, and education. I began to apply the principles I was learning to parenting and found that my four children thrived with this approach. I then decided to become a Waldorf Teacher.
I was trained at Rudolf Steiner College in Fair Oaks, California in Early Childhood, Class Teaching and Extra Lesson (Waldorf Special Education). Waldorf training provides tools for developing insight into the child's soul and spirit and gives the teacher the ability to discern human development from unique perspectives. I taught for 22 years at Shining Mountain Waldorf School in Boulder, Colorado as a kindergarten and class teacher and founded the Remedial Program there. In 1992 my husband, Jeff, and I created Stargarden, a farm based parenting class for parents and children. I have worked with hundreds of families in teaching the principles of the Waldorf philosophy in support of parenting and child raising practices for children birth to school age. These developmentally based principles focus on the health of the individual and family in body, soul and spirit. Each year private conferences have been offered in which I have shared my observations, insights and suggestions regarding the child's development and needs. At the suggestion of parents in my classes I am now offering my services to the world.
The consultation schedule involves 5 phases:
- Written feedback from parents of their observations and questions regarding the child
- A meeting at Stargarden with the child and parents to share the family biography
- Home visit on a Saturday from breakfast until after bedtime
- Parents meet with me to review my insights, suggestions, and to establish guidelines
for appropriate actions and approaches. Two or three priorities will be established. - Follow up conversations a month and two months later.
