Handmade Beeswax Candles
A noted researcher and teacher of spiritual processes, Rudolf Steiner, in a series of lectures on bees, once remarked that they bring the concept of love to our world through their cooperation and selflessness. Beeswax is one of the wonderful fruits of their lives. From an Old English word "weax", it is secreted by wax glands in the honeybee, created soley from the honey sugar. Temperatures are required to be 90° to produce it. The lemony-yellow color stems from the flower pollen, propolis, and honey itself. The wax is inert and safe to eat. Traditionally beeswax has been highly valued at 5 times the price of honey.

Burning Beeswax Candles:

Beeswax's high melting point of 148° and high viscosity produces a white, round flame with minimal smoke and a burning time of as much as twice that of mineral wax candles. The flame ionizes the air so that one feels relaxed and it burns impurities and pollutants, whereas paraffin candles, which are an oil by-product, create pollutants. Keep your wick trimmed and the candle out of drafts to preserve and maximize your candle's life. The flame produces a beautiful glow which is alive with the forces of love which the honeybees embody in their work. It is said that the honeybee is the only animal that came out of paradise.
