James McKee
James McKee was born in Brooklyn in 1972 and raised in Texas. At 17 years old he fulfilled his dream to move to Colorado where he attended the University of Colorado.
A few years later when he experienced Boulder he knew that was the place he wanted to settle.He is a man of many interests including photographer, pilot, dj, electrical engineer, mountain climber, skier and avid outdoorsman. He has had the unusual privilege of working in Sports Broadcasting for ten Olympics and four FIFA World Cups and in the process travelled throughout the world. Ten years ago when he met the Kirsch family, he was impressed by the qualities of creativity, interest in life and learning, capacities and balance that they had.
As he learned about Waldorf Education and life on the farm, he became a dear friend and big brother. He continues to mentor as well as be mentored by the boys, who are now young men. In 2006 the Kirsch family travelled to Torino, Italy where they were able to experience the Winter Olympics and see James in action at the Broadcasting Center and to experience the beautiful Italian culture with him.
James is a multi-talented individual with a balance of love of nature and the outdoors, knowledge and skills in computer and all digital technology, of technical skills such as auto repair, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical wiring and a deep connection to spiritual studies (most recently as an 'I AM' student of Saint Germain and the Ascended Masters). He has contributed a great deal to the running of the farm and to Stargarden as a videographer, in website design, audio production and in patiently and lovingly teaching Vicki the mysteries of using the computer. He has even contributed to the work of establishing a Waldorf Family Retreat Center in New Mexico which the Kirsch family dreams of creating.
